Dos & Don’ts to Improve Digestion

Avoid:

  • Cold foods and cold drinks
  • Raw fruits and veggies
  • Alcohol
  • Canned foods
  • Dairy
  • Over-eating
  • gas-producing foods: onions, soda or bubbly water, beans, cabbage, brussel sprouts, cauliflower, broccoli.
  • Spicy or acidic foods
  • Smoking which can irritate the bowels
  • Coffee
  • Foods with MSG
  • Worrying can weaken the digestion

Increase:

  • Hydration: plain water, lemon water with pinch of salt, or coconut water
  • Probiotics by capsule (Not by yogurt. You’d need to eat gallons of yogurt a day to get the amount of bacteria that’s in one capsule of probiotics.)
  • Foods such as garlic, blueberries, yams, sweet potatoes, white rice or rice noodles
  • Peppermint or ginger tea
  • Brothy soups
  • Consume gelatin daily
  • Digestive enzymes with each meal until you don’t need it anymore
