Acupuncture Initial Appointment
In this first appointment, we get to know each other, go through health history and why you are coming in to get acupuncture.  I present a short explanation of Chinese medicine and how acupuncture works and, more specifically, how it can work for you.  An acupuncture treatment is included in this first one and a half hour visit.

Acupuncture Follow-up Appointment
Once you have done an initial visit, a follow-up appointment is one hour and will include anything from acupuncture, electro-stimulation acupuncture, cupping, gua sha, massage, prescription of herbal remedies, and sometimes several of the above.

Holistic Nutrition Consultation
This appointment is most suited for those who are looking for a personalized way of changing the diet.  We talk about food allergies, cooking limitations, and family member’s desires and limitations.  Besides food intake, I also consider caffeine, sugar, alcohol, water, organic products, eating out, storage containers, microwaves, cooking pots, air and water purification systems, and body products (like soap and shampoo).  In short, anything that goes in your body or on your body.

Herbal Consultation
In an herbal consultation, we go through a complete health history and go over each complaint to be addressed.  I take the pulse on each wrist and look at the tongue, two diagnostic tools we use in Chinese medicine to determine what the pattern of imbalance is in the body.  If I have the right herbs in stock, I give them to you that day.  Otherwise, I order the herbal formula after the consultation and they arrive by mail in 4-5 days when you can come by my office to pick them up.  The consultation does not include the price of herbs.  Typically, one bottle costs $25 and lasts between 2-3 weeks.  Depending on the condition, one may have to take the herbs anywhere from one to six months.  Occasionally, I will prescribe two formulas at the same time to be taken together.

Qi Gong Meditation Class
Learn to relax your mind and calm your spirit.  You can come to just one class (first two weeks of the series only, please) or the whole four-week series.  Classes meet once a week.

Intro to Paleo Eating Class
This class is intended to introduce you to concept of eating Paleo (that is, eating the way our Paleolithic ancestors did who were hunter-gatherers), why it is important for our body to avoid grains, how the physiology of insulin works, and what diseases we can avoid by eating this way.  The class is one and a half hours with a Powerpoint slide show and includes a Paleo dinner and dessert.

30 Day Paleo Challenge
This is intended for those who have taken the Intro to Paleo eating class and want to try it out but don’t know how to start.   It is also for those who have not taken my Intro class but who have read a Paleo book or done some research and are familiar with the concepts and want support in trying it out.  It is highly recommended to take the Intro class first. An email is sent to you everyday for 30 days with ideas, inspirations, recipes, and links to Paleo-related videos or blogs.  You have access to phone and email support from Elie Cole throughout the 30 days and beyond.  You receive membership to my Paleo google group of those who have taken the challenge before you, with you, or after you where ideas and recipes can be shared.
